'The Fountain Head' has some amazing dialogues to spell out. Make it a point to read it to find out how elegantly Ayan rand shapes her characters. Until yesterday i wasn't convinced about the Roark's ideology but that of Toohey whose rational is to drag oneself to dust unlike saints, to make things easy for the fellow souls on planet. Roarks call them second handed creatures whose thoughts, dreams ambitions are shaped by other men and they are not egoists. They cannot be selfish as selfishness and egotism are the both sides of the same coin. The splendid statement goes like this:
'......Our greatest moments are personal,self-motivated, not to be touched. The things which are sacred or precious to us are the things we withdraw from promiscuous sharing.'
Some words of wisdom from Toohey for conquering the human civlization:
'...Make man feel small. Make him feel guilty. Kill his aspiration and his integrity...
...Kill man's sense of values. Kill his capacity to recognize greatness or achieve his greatness...
... Tell them to laugh at everything..
...Dont allow men to be happy..make them feel mere fact of personal desire is evil..
... can we rule thinking men?We dont want any thinking men...
...A world where thought will not be his own but the thought borrowed from his neighbour..'
Make this your bible and the world will be at your feet.

Rand's portrayal of Roark's character is exquisite. The crux of the book is during the Roark's trial in corlandt case. Its as if one attains moksha during this part of plot.To live upto one self is the motivation of a noble soul. Be a creator and you should just be bothered about your part. The passions and love for his work will boast of his talent. In his words neverbe a parasite rather be a cause in the matter with no external dependency.
